Yeah we’re good on defenseman.

I know the D has been solid, but everything I read on other sites has the Islanders looking for a Dman. You cant argue the fact that since Pelech went down the Islanders record is not good. I wonder if Lou actually sees the D as an area he wants to upgrade? Would probably be a rental?

I was not crazy about the Pelech and Mayfield deals. I think Barry is a huge key in helping Pelech and Mayfield. Seems for the last number of years all the experts wanted the Isles to trade for a goalie or defense. Never a thought of losing coaching before Barry.

I was actually more a fan of mayfield than anything else. He went through a rough patch but I liked the kid. Pelech I thought was terrible. I never saw him turning a corner in all honesty I was blown away by his play from the middle of last season till he got injured this season. Happy to be wrong about him.

To be fair, I did not like any of the dmen under Cappy and Doug.

They need to add a veteran D man, they are a lot easier to come by than a scorer

Remember who loves those guys and their wonderful contracts for next season. I’m sure they’ll be even better. Contracts like that usually age well. Remember how Lehner was going to fall on his face? How we were so much better off not signing him and Varlamov was going to be a superstar with us because anyone can play like Lehner did last season in trotz’s system? Three more years at five million per😂😂🤣

I remember some thought it would not be an issue trying to trade him. We found out before the season this was not the case.
